People give up their time to volunteer for so many different reasons. Amongst the Friends’ volunteers, these include filling time post-retirement, wanting to stay active, helping the hospital, giving something back and making new friends. In addition to these very valid reasons for volunteering, the Friends are also able to offer a number of benefits to their volunteers.
NHS Trust Staff Discount Scheme
Members, volunteers and staff of the Friends of the Eastbourne Hospital are now able to join the NHS Trust Staff Discount Scheme giving various discount rates and special deals at a wide range of suppliers. These offers cover all sorts of different things from DIY to gift shops, health and beauty, photographers, holidays, cars and much more. You can sign up FREE for this scheme with your personal email at www.esht.mytrustbenefits.co.uk It is a very easy process and having done that you will then have access to all the discounts that are available to you.
In order to claim your discount you will need to present your FoEH identification at the outlet that you are looking to receive the discount from. For members this will be your membership card and for volunteers it is your hospital ID badge. Half price tickets to our Dine Around the World events
Our Dine Around the World programme is a series of dinner parties held approximately three times a year at local restaurants specialising in another country’s cuisine. Our Thai night is held at the Thai Marina, our Italian evening at La Locanda, our Indian banquet at the Spice Garden and our Turkish table at Dem Shish. Full ticket price varies but is usually around £20, meaning volunteers are able to join for just £10 for a two/three-course meal, and invite a guest for the same price. Always in demand, our Dine Around the Worlds book up very quickly and are a great place for volunteers to enjoy an inexpensive evening over delicious food whilst relaxing with other volunteers or inviting a table of their own guests. Simply look out for the posters, the website announcements or the news in Hospitality and when you see a Dine Around the World you would like to attend just call, email or pop in to the office to reserve your place.
